Happy Birthday, Daddy

My Daddy would be 89 years old today were he alive.

He lived through the Great Depression, segregation, integration, discrimination and a long illness.

Yet, through it all, he remained a faithful believer in God. He never asked, "Why?" and maintained his intellect and dignity through it all.

He died on the 4th of July, Independence Day, 1996.

I find that to be ironic, but not at all surprising to anyone who knew him.

Rest In Peace - Gone But NEVER Forgotten

Love,

Dot

Happy Birthday to a man who refused to say "Uncle" to life's struggles. A man who remained a faithful, hopeful, loving, and dignified soldier who embraced God's Blessings in small and big ways to the end of his journey on this earth. He left a legacy of a man who gave back to his community through his encouragement and concern for all of the young people who crossed his path.
